Mrs. Ovie Mae Lassetter, age 93, of Autumn Square, formerly of Sandhill-Shady Grove Road, Carrollton, Ga., passed away Monday, October 1, 2007.
She was born April 12, 1914, in Carroll County, Georgia to the late Amos Morrow and Lula Hall Morrow. She was a long time member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, retired from Lawler Hosiery Mill and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Millard S. Lassetter; a son, Bobby D. Long; step-son, James "Jim" Lassetter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hoke and Genie Morrow and Ira and Ruby Morrow; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Harvey Willis and two brothers-in-law, Taft Simpkins and Hamilton Folds.
Survivors include her step-children, Joyce Kiser of Marietta, Ga., Lynn and Terry Teel of Bowdon, Robert "Bobby" Lassetter of Kennesaw, Ga., Alvin and Carol Lassetter of Dalton, Ga., Steve Lassetter and Lorraine DeFoor and David and Peggy Lassetter, all of Carrollton; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Grady Jones of Bremen, Ga.; a step-daughter-in-law, Barbara "Bobbie" Lassetter of Ellijay, Ga.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at 3 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jerome Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Lassetter, Alan Lassetter, Mark Lassetter, Corey Hendrix, Zach Lassetter, and Jerry Lassetter. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, from 5 until 8 p.m.
Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel, Carrollton.
