Mr. Jessie Wayne Waldon, 71, of Greison Trail, Newnan, formerly of Carrollton, died Saturday May 9, 2009.
Mr. Waldon was born Nov. 11, 1937, in Carroll County to the late Jessie Waldon and Nanny Lee Wright Waldon. He was a retired truck driver and served his country in the United States Air Force. Besides his parents Mr. Waldon was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include sons and daughters in-law Larry and Lori Waldon of Wedowee, Ala.; Darrell and Beverly Waldon of Wetumpka, Ala.; son Randy Waldon of Douglasville; daughter and son in-law Kim and Tim Bish of Newnan; sister Betty Bradley of Carrollton; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, May 12, from 12 noon till 2 p.m. with a graveside service at Shady Grove Baptist Church starting at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Barnes officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Bish, Sam Rusin, Robin Gunnin, Randy Waldon, Darrell Waldon and Larry Waldon with the American Legion Post # 143 folding and presenting flag.
