Mrs. Jean Walton Craft, age 75 of Shady Grove Road, Carrollton died Friday, April 24, 2009.
Mrs. Craft was born in Carroll County on December 31, 1933, the daughter of the late J. R. Walton and Blanche House Walton.
She was a 1950 graduate of Villa Rica High School and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Craft was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Tony Folds of Carrollton; grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, Toby and Karen Folds of Roopville, Jared Folds of Greenville, S.C.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Carrie and Chris Newsom of Carrollton; great grandchildren, Kelsey Folds, Deverik Folds, Jenna Newsom, Crislin Newsom; sisters-in-law and spouse, Charlsie Walton of Carrollton, Hazel Drew of Marietta, Mattie Jackson, Barbara Bailey, Shirley Craft, Virginia and Gordon Smith all of Bowdon; brothers-in-law and spouses, J. T. and Ann Craft, James "Pete" Craft, Roger and Kathy Craft all of Bowdon; longtime family friends, Annie Maude Bohannon, Janie and George Loftin and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. "J.D." Craft; brothers, Paul H. Walton, Mack Walton; sister, Virginia W. Driver.
Funeral service will be Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jerome Mitchell and Rev. Milford Ballenger officiating. Music will be provided by Jared Shadrix. Pallbearers will be Danny Gillespie, George Loftin, Mark Walton, Doug Walton, Billy Walton and Jeff Driver.
The family received friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
