Agnes Bell Powers, 93, of 2087 Tyus-Carrollton Road, Carrollton, died Monday, June 18, 2001.
Mrs. Powers was born March 22, 1908, in Carroll County, daughter of the late Seaborn Joseph Jackson and Minnie Lee Burnham Jackson. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Grafton Powers; sons-in-law Dan Beavers and David Chandler; three brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Barbara Beavers of Carrollton, Wayne and Agnes Powers of Bremen, Marynelle and H. Wayne Cook of Newnan, Willard and Judy Powers and Lynda Chandler, all of Carrollton; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, June 20, at 2 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Verhine, the Rev. Gordon Willingham and the Rev. Doug Bearden officiating. Music will be by the church choir and Heaven's Echos. Pallbearers will be Barry Beavers, Chris Farmer, John Powers, James Kingston, Dennis Jackson and Tim Barnes. Burial will follow in Bethesda Baptist Church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.
