Mrs. Lucile R. Powers, 84, of Miller Academy Road, Bremen, died June 23, 1997. She was born in Lafayette, Ala., June 11, 1913, daughter of the late F.M. Laster and Melinda Helms Laster. Mrs. Powers was a member of the Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by four sons, Marion, Durwin, Bobby Ray and Frank Powers and an infant daughter, Mary Powers.
Survivors include sons, C. L. Powers and Robert Powers, both of Bremen; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Lee's Chapel Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Homer T. Wilburn, the Rev. Toby Powers and the Rev. Ricky Evans officiating. Music will be by the Scott Thomas Singers. Pallbearers will be Curt Powers, Keith Powers, Jason Powers, Tim Thompson, Tommy Crawford, Mark Powers, Mike Austin, Darrin Powers, and Jerry Dan Parrish. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
