Dalton Powers, 61, 285 Akin Road, Carrollton, died Nov. 2, 1990 following a one car accident on McKenzie Bridge Road.
He was born in Carroll County, April 19, 1929, son of the late William Lonnie and Alice Alberta Duke Powers. He had lived in Carroll County all of his life. He was an attendant at Haynes Chevron Service Station and a Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, the former Jackie Price Samples; four daughters, Sandra Massengale and Peggy Rollins of Bowdon, Tracie Powers and Lynn Powers of Carrollton; two sons, Steve Powers and Tim Powers of Carrollton; 20 grandchildren; three sisters, Annie Kate Wyatt, Opal Gay and Edna Richardson, all of Carrollton; and two brothers, Garland Powers and Clarence Powers of Carrollton.
Services were conducted Monday, Nov. 5, from Lee's Chapel Church with Rev. Grant Finnell officiating. Music was by Newt and Louise Holmes. Pallbearers were Jackie Cook, Jerrell Haynes, Winston Harper, Jerry Phillips, Bobby Harper and Jackie Richardson. Interment was in the church cemetery with the American Legion Post 143 folding and presenting the flag.
Martin & Hightower West Center Street Chapel of Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.
